Environmental Monitoring and Wildlife Relocation
introduction
What do Cane Toads, Green Iguanas, and Cuban Knight Anoles have in common? Answer: They are all invasive species threatening The Bahamas' delicate ecosystems. Developing the expertise to handle and remove these animals safely is critical in mitigating their spread. This specialized training equips participants with humane and effective handling techniques to manage invasive species, contributing to the protection of native wildlife and habitats. We also train in the safe removal and relocation of Bahamian snakes in particular, ensuring no harm comes to our native wildlife.
Monitoring sites involves the proper documentation of wildlife and infractions seen on a site, including improper disposal of human refuse, and how to section off areas where birds are nesting properly. Wild Bahamas staff can train you in these techniques and basic monitoring protocols.
