COMING SOON! Course Title: Understanding the White Crown Pigeon ​Focus Areas: Ecology, Behavior, and Conservation of the White-Crowned Pigeon. Target Audience: Wildlife enthusiasts, students, and professionals in ecology, biology, and conservation. Format: Virtual lectures, interactive and hands-on activities, and fieldwork. ​Course Overview: This intensive one (1) day course provides a deep dive into the biology, behavior, and conservation of the White-Crowned Pigeon (Patagioenas leucocephala), a species of significant ecological importance in The Bahamas. Participants will learn about its habitat, diet, migratory patterns, and conservation challenges through engaging lectures and hands-on experiences. Participants are required to have achieved a grade average of 75% or higher and complete 4 hours of fieldwork in order to pass the course. ​Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course, participants will: 1. Identify the White-Crowned Pigeon and understand its ecological role. 2. Recognize the threats to its survival and ongoing conservation efforts. 3. Gain practical birdwatching and species monitoring skills. 4. Understand how to support and advocate for conservation initiatives.

Format: Virtual lectures, interactive and hands-on activities, and fieldwork. ​Course Overview: This twelve (12) day course provides an immersive learning experience focused on the unique terrestrial wildlife of The Bahamas. Participants will explore native Bahamian birds, plants, and reptiles through a combination of virtual lectures, and guided fieldwork. Participants are required to have achieved a grade average of 75% or higher and complete 8 hours of fieldwork in order to pass the course. ​Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course, participants will: 1. Identify key native species of Bahamian birds, plants, and reptiles. 2. Understand the ecological roles of these species and the challenges they face. 3. Gain practical skills in wildlife observation, surveying, and conservation techniques. 4. Develop a deeper appreciation for Bahamian biodiversity and its global significance.

Course Overview: This twelve (12) week course provides an in-depth exploration of The Bahamas' ecosystems, with a focus on its unique terrestrial environments and wildlife. Participants will study key ecological components, including Bahamian birds, reptiles, amphibians, arthropods, snails, plants, and fungi, alongside the geological factors influencing biodiversity. Participants will also explore the impacts of invasive species and the importance of conservation efforts. Participants are required to have achieved a grade average of 75% and have completed 40 hours of fieldwork in order to pass the course. Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course, participants will: 1. Understand the fundamental components and functioning of Bahamian terrestrial ecosystems. 2. Participants are required to have achieved a grade average of 75% and have completed 40 hours of fieldwork in order to pass the course.
